The extremely low current draw is a key feature along with transient and reverse polarity protection. Available with or without lighted dials.Lighted clock versions are usually wired into the dimmer switch for panel lighting. However, you have the option to wire it into the master switch - but user would have to re-set clcok each time. The clock only draws about 15 milli amps, similiar to a car clock; so it does not affect the planes battery.
