The Kannad 406 AP (Automatic or Portable) should be installed using the bespoke Kannad fixing bracket near the tail and connected to an outside antenna, Rod or Blade depending on the aircrafts speed. When removed from it's bracket and connected to the auxilary antenna, the Kannad 406 AP becomes an automous survival beacon operation on three frequencies: (121.5 / 243 / 406 MHz). Manual activation can be done by optional control switch fitted into the panel. The 406 AP has the added option of using GPS or ARINC 429 interface to load the position of the aircraft into the ELT meaning that once activated, search and resque aircraft will know your precise location as well as the aircraft identification. Weight 1.29 KG, measures 172 (H) x 82 (W) x 82 (D) mm.
